As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our members and their families for their trust and commitment to our program. I also want to recognize the incredible dedication and talent of our staff who show up in support of youth every day. Finally, I want to thank our incredible volunteers, including our Board Members, and our donors who prioritize the Club and put youth and families first. It’s through the collective support of our entire community that our organization continues to thrive.

There are many things for which we at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco are thankful and proud this Thanksgiving Season. After a long and divisive election season, both locally and nationally, and the turbulence caused by the San Francisco Unified School District this fall, we are reminded of the critically important role we play during times of uncertainty and change.

In the weeks and months ahead, we will remain focused on what our organization always provides—stability and consistency for youth and families; high-quality programs; and a safe and supportive place where all youth feel heard, valued, loved, and understood.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco!

Rob Connolly

P.S. Like many organizations, in the coming weeks we will ask for your support. While there will be many notable and worthy requests, I do hope that you will consider supporting the work that we do by sharing our story with others and by making a financial gift.

Moving Past Election Season

It’s been a long and divisive election season. At both the local and national levels, there has been a barrage of messages about what is wrong in our society. And, there has been a relentless emphasis on our differences, making them seem impossible to bridge.
